Weird but safe. That’s what I think about masks. Not saying I won’t wear one, I’m all for masking up to prevent the spread, flatten the curve, stop me poking chips into my mouth, whatever the reason.

Masks aren’t mandatory where I’m living at the moment but I’m opting to wear one at the supermarket and other public places where people are in close proximity because, well, because science. Mask wearing takes a bit of getting used to, not just physically but mentally. That’s what surprised me the most, the number of weird thoughts I had in the half hour I spent at the shops wearing a mask.

2. Does everyone think I have COVID because I’m wearing a mask? Maybe that’s good. Maybe people will social distance now and respect my personal space moat. Mmm. Personal space moat. 4. I don’t think the nice lady at the deli can tell that I’m smiling at her. Should I say: “I’m smiling at you right now.” Or would that be creepy? Like when someone is walking behind you at night and they try to reassure you by saying, “Relax, I’m not going to murder you.”5. Maybe my mask does need to be more fun. Perhaps I should go on one of those fun mask websites and get a mask with a wittyprinted on it.

Does anyone give a f*ck what this woman thinks?

If only she was a good comedian :(

Woolworths shoppers, staff ‘strongly encouraged’ to wear masks in NSW, ACT and some Queensland storesWoolworths customers and staff have been “strongly encouraged” to wear face coverings in stores across NSW, ACT and some Queensland hotspots as coronavirus outbreaks across eastern Australia continue to pop up. Thank you Woolworths, good job if you enforce it .... A surge in NSW? 14-19 new cases a day over the last 6 days. Not that I'd ever expect some perspective from SBS. Do Woolworths have some sort of medical expert panel that the NSW government does not? Further evidence that the real battle is up versus down. Pretend there’s bushfire haze. Everybody masked up and nobody batted an eye then.
