Bokang Mokwena broke the deadlock for Upington on 24 minutes but City Rovers levelled matters around the hour-mark. Mcedi Vandala broke the deadlock for Magesi ten minutes before the interval but Muzomuhle Khanyi levelled matters for Lions just before the break. Sinamandla Zondi got the breakthrough for Maritzburg on 24 minutes and Sanele Gaxa doubled their lead ten minutes before the interval.
