EFF leader Julius Malema asked judge Elias Matojane, who ruled Jacob Zuma’s parole to be unlawful, how society would benefit if an 80-year-old man was incarcerated.

Matojane had last year ruled that Zuma should return to jail and the time he spent on medical parole should not be counted as part of his sentence. The former president was granted parole two months into his 15 months direct imprisonment sentence on contempt of court charges.

Matojane is one of the candidates being interviewed by the Judicial Service Commission as it searches for judges to fill vacancies in the superior courts. Malema asked him “hypothetically”: “Is it in the best interest to incarcerate old people who are not in line with what the correctional service system seeks to achieve?”

MatthewsMahlubi That's a stupid question. How does a society benefit if a 30 year old man is incarcerated?

But, we all know Malema is not one of the talented people around...

Aaaaah Mr Flip Flop at it again🤣🤣

This intention is course more division within the ANC, this strategies won't work when it comes to votes come 2024. Voters learn every day on certain decisions taken by political leaders that some are not genuine.

Manje why the picture of Zuma, are you implying that Julius_S_Malema is speaking for Zuma

That's what happens when you run out of Topics

Both should be incarcerated

Thank you CiC for exposing these scumbags one by one from the robes to the paid Media. In CiC Julius_S_Malema we trust 🙌🏾

Its not about how society would benefit...imagine using that logic in other instances, please! its about breaking the law and facing the consequences!!

The law is the law, regardless of your age. Send his thieving backside to jail NOW!

Some ppl when talking they don't reasoning, how can you commit crime and later u tell de court or us about your age,I mean u should have considered that b4 your actions,we have Sistas n bradas who r doing yrs in prison for fraud what r we saying about them,2 us thy r also famous

To answer you Malema: your 80years old is been running away from courts for over 20 years. He once said he can't wait for his days in courts.

Does crime have age limit. Zuma started enabling state capture being 70 or more

Right now I’m struggling with how Malema is benefitting society.

Did he also mention the suffering society had endured and still to endure for many years to come under his nne irresponsible and looting years? Did he also refer to the notion of equality before the law? Or was it just selective amnesia

Society would benefit because they would learn and see that peoples acts have consequences no matter who you are and how old you are, people need to see that the law is still the law on this country and that it applies to everyone!!!

Society would benefit by knowing that no one is above the law & a man who stole from society didn't get away with it, simple justice!

RonaMurdoch Clever Malema would think differently if he's child fell prey to an 80 Yr old paedo for eg.. He wouldn't be asking what benefit to society blah blah blah..

Age has nothing to do with it, you do the crime you do the time.

Julius uyazifanela nje noMsholozi

You can be 99, if you’re a criminal you must go to jail.

It’s in the interest of accountability and that nobody is above the law. Age and past actions DO NOT give a free pass.

Is this relevant, or is it real. Or is it just a case of filth defending rot, or maybe the toy soldier was shooting from is mouth Bam!!! Bam,!!! Bam!!! Like always 🤮🤮🤮

It just might show all the little bleating sheep that crime does NOT pay!

Julius is one foolish boy who does not think. He is asking foolish questions

Julius, locking up the 80 year old would send a message to society that crime doesn't pay. And ensure you get your fair share of jail time.

It’s in the best interest of society that the law is administered without fear or favor to everyone and anyone

RET and EFF to get married soon, if not already...

Malema is correct, it's foolishness to do so disregarding the fact that Zuma also fought for freedom; humiliating him like this in his old age is evil. De Klerk was allowed to enjoy his retirement despite him committing worse crimes than Zuma.

We’d sleep a lot better knowing that justice has been served. He should be there for life - which in Crocodile is another 40 years for him

Absolutely no accountability iow .. 🙄🫤 Julius Malema is a proxy of Jacob Zuma in that platform. The JSC will soon receive a complaint about his conduct. Once the court rules in favour of a complainant, it will be the end of him in that Commission. 80+ year old Nazi bigwigs are still being pursued in Argentina 77 years after WW2 and prosecuted. Age is not an excuse to do state capture. What the EFF leader is doing by his remark is only to further affirm the president's guilt.
