After barely making the playoffs last season, the Rangers captured the franchise’s first World Series win in 2023.

Almost as an aside, Young adds, “Most people externally projected 82-83 wins for this team, so in a lot of ways this team overachieved.” The bullpen is retooled and should be improved. The starting pitching is not. Yes, this team has Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom and even Tyler Mahle ready to jump off the top rope and support the cause. But at what point and for how long? And how do the Rangers get through the first half without them?

Maybe the Rangers are simply making it more fun for all, shoving a repeat into the “highly unlikely” category for most observers. Young feels otherwise.
