Wrestled vigorously? Cool

Go pick on the Muslims instead of the Christians for once

A. Totem poles are usually on private property. Or Indian Reservations. Crosses should be on land owned by Churches! My opinion

It's not even religious at this point. The cross in this context has just turned into a universal sign of a grave.

The constitution says you can’t. End of debate.

Community establishes it. Its up to the community. Those who can move or vote to remove. By law.

Separation of Church and State....What is it that people do not get?

How about never

Let sleeping dog lie! Lay!!

I don't understand the fuss. We have freedom of religion in this country. We are free to practice whatever religion we prefer, or none at all. A symbol is just a symbol. If it offends you, look the other way and stop being overly offended by everything.

Supreme Court will look at whether a cross is promotion of religion or war memorialThe Supreme Court, long divided on the role of religion, is set to decide whether a 40-foot Latin cross in Maryland is an unconstitutional official endorsement of Christianity or a historic memorial for local soldiers who died in World War I. How can an agreed upon religious symbol memorialize people who did not believe in or agree with that symbol. It's as insulting as Mormons 'saving' dead people by declaring them Mormons in the afterlife. Magical Thinking is Magical Thinking is MAGICAL THINKING. What's next changing all the crosses in Normandy? Its been there a hundred years and no issues. Get over yourselves. Next war? Don't put religious symbols then. Mt Soledad reboot...

Supreme Court suggests memorial cross does not violate separation of church and stateA majority of the Supreme Court suggested Wednesday that a 40-foot cross on public land in Maryland that was built to honor fallen soldiers in World War I does not violate the separation of church and state, but the justices struggled to settle on a rationale that lower courts could apply to other religious symbols on public lands. Boo The cross is a pagan symbol. So, you're good to go . . . Everyone’s a god damn snow flake.

Supreme Court To Decide Fate Of World War I Memorial Cross On Public LandThe American Humanist Association is challenging the existence of a 40-foot cross on government-owned land, but the Trump administration hopes a newly conservative majority on the Supreme Court will agree to let it stand. Other than a partisan decision, I'm not really sure what the legal basis for letting it stand would be. These artifacts are illegal under the current laws. Waste of time money & energy. Fix healthcare instead.

Supreme Court seems to seek narrow way to uphold cross that memorializes war deadIs the Bladensburg Peace Cross unconstitutional or a secular honor to World War I heroes? It's shameful that liberals want to tear down monuments celebrating dead veterans. They will start with Robert E Lee, then come for Washington and Jefferson and will eventually tear down Arlington. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. 1A (2/2). Congress published copies of Jefferson's Bible for first time in 1904. Since, Bibles have been used customarily as gifts for recently sworn-in members of Congress. Aside from its nature as a philosophical text, Bibles have provided useful insight into mind of Jefferson.

Supreme Court to decide fate of cross-shaped WWI memorial in MarylandThe Supreme Court hears arguments on whether a 40-foot Bladensburg, Maryland, cross-shaped war memorial violates the First Amendment. Should it be taken down? Emotionally I would leave the cross, legally it should be moved. Were any of the 49 soldiers members of any other religion? If not, then the answer is it does not entangle itself in religion. who is offended by this one?

Supreme Court to decide if giant cross is religious symbol or secular memorial to war deadThe case raises a question that has vexed the justices for decades: What is the proper place for religion in American public life? That is a WWI memorial. Anyone that wants to destroy those memorials has a true hatred for those who served. Religion has shown itself to be full of corruption, full of lies and full of duplicity. Religion has no place in our world. The only people who have a right to decide the memorial are the families whose loved ones are being remembered.
