Two of the court’s four liberals suggested the unique history of the Peace Cross in the Washington suburb of Bladensburg, Md.
What if the court said, “Yes. Okay. No more,” he said, adding “We’re a different country now.” Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg seemed to think there was no way to disconnect the preeminent symbol of Christianity from its religious roots. Christians wear the cross as a symbol of their devotion, Ginsburg said. And Sotomayor said the size of the cross “dwarfs buildings, it dwarfs people.

(2/2). Congress published copies of Jefferson's Bible for first time in 1904. Since, Bibles have been used customarily as gifts for recently sworn-in members of Congress. Aside from its nature as a philosophical text, Bibles have provided useful insight into mind of Jefferson.

It's shameful that liberals want to tear down monuments celebrating dead veterans. They will start with Robert E Lee, then come for Washington and Jefferson and will eventually tear down Arlington.

Supreme Court to decide if giant cross is religious symbol or secular memorial to war deadThe case raises a question that has vexed the justices for decades: What is the proper place for religion in American public life? That is a WWI memorial. Anyone that wants to destroy those memorials has a true hatred for those who served. Religion has shown itself to be full of corruption, full of lies and full of duplicity. Religion has no place in our world. The only people who have a right to decide the memorial are the families whose loved ones are being remembered.

Supreme Court will look at whether a cross is promotion of religion or war memorialThe Supreme Court, long divided on the role of religion, is set to decide whether a 40-foot Latin cross in Maryland is an unconstitutional official endorsement of Christianity or a historic memorial for local soldiers who died in World War I. How can an agreed upon religious symbol memorialize people who did not believe in or agree with that symbol.
