A portion of the building that houses Sam's Diner at Public Square and Geddes Street in Holley collapsed around 9:30 a.m., according to Murray Fire Chief Rick Cary. The collapse left a large amount of bricks scattered behind the building. Cary said the brick portion of the building, which has since had an addition, dates back to the 1800s.

Cary said structural engineers are assessing the building and a contractor is coming in to remove the rubble and try to secure the building from the first floor up.
