It's getting dangerously close to 'game over' for some players in China: If you're under 18 and a fan of video games, you're now limited to just three hours of play a week.

Will China ban 24/7 social media apps? Also, to the non-initiated, you can play hundreds of hours of Skyrim and The Witcher as a solo player in the quiet of your home. Not that I would know….😉

I'm torn. It's not that the government shouldn't legislate this, it's that it's gotten so bad that the government has had to intervene. People tend to underestimate how the sheer population of China can make a massive deal out of something that typically can be self regulated.

If China can do this, why can't VP control content on social media? DNC should be able to block all RNC posts. It's as simple as an Executive Order suspending the 1st amendment. Our media lapdogs will do as they're told & make this seem reasonable. democrats winning

Another example of the evil the ccp does smh

Cool. New threat to give my kid on her iPhone and iPad for hours a day. 'I'm sending you to China where the government dictates how much time you can waste on that.'

😂 lol!! Future laying flat generation. Never trust or invest in the CCP in China and their corporations.

This is awesome!! Good for them

Why “just”? They realized that kids are gradually turning into morons and they are acting upon it.

I don't see 'ONLINE' anywhere in this tweet.

'Under the new mandates, companies [can provide] only on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays & only between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. . . same time on national holidays. [A]lso . . . players [must use] real names to sign on and . . . to ensure compliance with the new restrictions.' F*&! that.

If they are not playing the games they can use their intellect to learn how to make and create the games.

Cannot wait for this to turn into 'non-gamer children in China are selling their video game time to peers'

good news for westearn players

Good, they stay killing me in PUBG 😅

It’s such a huge over reach of power. If it’s legal why should the government care about how it’s population wants to entertain themselves? So dystopian

Maybe players in the West will finally be able to play the Ark pvp servers without getting wiped by traveling Chinese Alpha tribes. 😂

China: Can't tolerate Democracy.

It just so happens that excessive internet is bad near meal planning.

Good luck with that, china

It also will also restrict 'sexual explicitness, goriness, violence and gambling' regardless of age. These types of restrictions are already affecting the types of media we're able to produce in our country because corporations don't want to miss out on that market.

I will gladly send my children to China

I can't believe the number of people in the replies who actually think this is an appropriate thing for a government to be legislating

China Pro people policies Political will for radical reforms, sweeping structural changes Political will to crack down on cronyism, oligarchs, corruption Kleptocracy, Kakistocracy, share brokers, hedge funds, crony capitalism, currency speculators, stock market manipulators

China is definitely going be able to take over the world now.

I love China! So smart. Their standard of living is rising and masses more content every day. Opposite of what is happening in the US. So dangerous.

People in these replies are so odd to me. What is so bad about games? They help kids learn and develop their minds. Think if they did the same to books, TV, or any other fun activity. It is insanity. Sure kids shouldn't be ONLY playing games, but that's on the parents.

Should be that way in the US 🇺🇸 too
