The start of 2022 to see hikes in base hourly pay for hundreds of thousands of workers in 56 U.S. jurisdictions, report finds.

Those due to receive pay increases as of Saturday include workers now making at least $12 an hour in three states: Arizona , Colorado and Maine .

Minimum wage earners in Ohio and South Dakota are getting hourly increases of 50 cents when 2022 begins, boosting the rate in the former to $9.30 and the latter to $9.95. Workers in Flagstaff, Arizona, will make an hourly minimum of $15.50 when the new year rolls in, a level that is slated to be surpassed in a slew of other towns and cities, most of them in California. In Sunnyvale, California, for instance, workers will be making an hourly minimum of $17.10 when 2022 begins.

But no uproar over social security. I paid in for 40 years but benefits are below the povdrty level. And... When did flipoing burgers become a carrier?

How about don't rely on minimum wage jobs to support yourself or families. Let high school and college kids fill those jobs. It's a good starting point for people.

My local McDonalds is paying 16.50 an hour. So try to keep up.

It will be great for the economy. The extra goes straight into circulation for all to share. And round and round it goes. But the base rate should be apx $21 per hour like Australia etc. Maybe next time.

And fewer jobs and higher inflation

It’s sad that employees have been fight for $15 min wage since Obama administration. And the corporate funded politicians across parties have blocked it for over 10 yrs.

along with higher prices... because companies WILL ALWAYS RAISE PRICES- BUT NEVER CUT PROFIT MARGINS.

So, if anything it's just keeping up with inflation. Or still falling behind. Running twice as fast to stay in the same place.
