Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, wins latest court battle against newspaper that published letter sent to her father

A UK court on Thursday dismissed an appeal brought by Associated Newspapers Limited against a previous judgment that the duchess had a reasonable expectation of privacy regarding a letter she sent to her father Thomas Markle in August 2018.Meghan brought the litigation against ANL after the Mail on Sunday reproduced parts of the private letter.

"While this win is precedent setting, what matters most is that we are now collectively brave enough to reshape a tabloid industry that conditions people to be cruel, and profits from the lies and pain that they create."The duchess won her privacy claim against ANL in February when the judge ruled"the disclosures were manifestly excessive and hence unlawful," and that there would be"no prospect that a different judgment would be reached after a trial.

Who cares?

Right decision! Saying she thought it may get leaked to the press didn’t mean she knew it would. It says more about the fact she didn’t trust Thomas Markle not to share it & had to be careful what she wrote & was right not to. She still owned the copyright.

The press should learn from this and other unethical methods to dig into people's private lives and lay back. Most journalists are too intrusive. I have nothing against exposing activities that affect the public but condemn the same if directed towards private matters.

Meg learnt a few tips from Harvey & Ross🤣

Meghan Markle won..AGAIN! Shame on her brother-in-law, who authorised her private messages to be handed over to help TheDailyFail... who needs such a family
