LONGMONT, Colo. — A man accused of shooting the mother of his children – while those two children were in the back seat of the vehicle – had a protection order in place that prohibited him from possessing a weapon, according to court documents.
One witness said she heard a single shot and got up to look out her window. She saw a man standing by the passenger side of a vehicle in a driveway, the affidavit says. She said she saw the man shoot into the vehicle a second time and drive away in a white vehicle.Investigators interviewed her children, who reported that they were in the back seat of their vehicle, about to go to the store, when their dad came up and shot their mom twice, the affidavit says.
As officers searched for Allen, he called 911 and said,"I think I just killed my ex-wife" the affidavit says. He went on to say, according to the document, that he"fired a gun at her."
