The Supreme Court says consumers who accuse Apple of violating antitrust rules with its App Store can sue the company

New York A group of iPhone owners accusing Apple of violating US antitrust rules because of its App Store monopoly can sue the company, the Supreme Court ruled Monday.

Justice Brett Kavanaugh, in the majority opinion, said that when"retailers engage in unlawful anticompetitive conduct that harms consumers," people buying those companies' products have the right to hold the businesses to account."That is why we have antitrust law," Kavanaugh wrote. The court's four liberal justices joined Kavanaugh in the 5-4 decision.Apple does not allow customers to download apps from any other source other than the iTunes App Store.

Rosegraham247 I know & we are suing that Chinese Corp for everything we can.

I don’t trust Apple stores at all. I’m in.

🤣😅😂

Go buy a Damn android!!! It’s plenty to choose from

This is really stupid.

Ohhh boy... Apple will be having a hiring fair... all lawyers need apply.

How is it a monopoly when no one forced them to buy an iPhone?

*PELOSI*:.. JUST IN... PELOSI'S OFFICE DENIES IT WAS HER BRAIN LEAKING OUT OF HER RIGHT EAR AS SHE TILTED HER HEAD IN RECENT PRESS CONFERENCE. IN A QUICK SPIN ON EVENTS HER PR SAID SHE HAS HAD MASTOID ISSUES SINCE HER FALL FROM THE PIANO AT THE NORTH BEACH CONDOR CLUB AS A TEEN.

I’ve never purchased an app but the prices of most apps seem pretty cheap to me. Isnt it worth it to have the s/w checked for invasive code/viruses?

The lawyers and government will be the only winners

Guess that the libs lied again about Kavanaugh just being a shill for big business.

Nhihggger trash NT

didn't they invent that whole 'apps' thing?

Monopoly? Are they idiots? There is a google App Store too. And others. To have a monopoly, there can only be one.

Americans will sue anyone, Apple should wear it as a badge of hnour

I prefer the ease of management and quality control that the App Store offers, but that’s my opinion.

The breaking news here is that Kavanaugh sided with the 4 more liberal justices.

Reeks of Microsoft antitrust case all over again.

Monkees sing “ here we come...”

Uh, Facebook🤨

God when?

Surprised the store is open... Each purchase is a potential lawsuit. Now all platforms that take commissions and monopolize the store are subject to lawsuits.

Break them up now.

Apple is the only company that operates with some ethics. This is so unfair...

‎White Lies on Apple PodcastsIn 1965, a white minister was murdered in Selma, Alabama. After three men were tried and acquitted the case went cold — until now. Coming May 14, a new, limited-run podcast from NPR. WhiteLiesPodcast Black people are killed on video cams now and they still try to cover it up. What have we learned since 1965? What have we allowed to happen since? I think of this podcast every time I see white Democrat open their mouth. WhiteLies I have got to tell you, I was hesitant to listen because 1. I'm not a fan of 'true crime' podcasts and 2. I wasn't sure I wanted the frustration of going back to the 60s, but man this is a very compelling story. The hosts are doing a FANTASTC job!!!!
