FantasticBeasts3 is expected to put more of a spotlight on Jude Law’s young Albus Dumbledore and set more action at Hogwarts

Warner Bros., the studio behind the “Harry Potter” spinoff series, planned a sprawling five-film franchise for a prequel series set in the Wizarding World made famous by author J.K. Rowling. “and Where to Find Them” was a hit in 2016, grossing over $800 million at the worldwide box office. It was a reassuring sign to executives that even after the “Harry Potter” series wrapped its eighth and final film in 2011, the studio could mine more riches from the beloved universe.

“I don’t think you can discount a movie that made $650 million, but there’s an issue any time a sequel drops that far from the original,” said Jeff Bock, a box office analyst with Exhibitor Relations. “We’ve seen what happens when a studio tries to put out a third movie in a franchise after the second didn’t do anything for audiences.”

“If you look at what worked with ‘Crimes of Grindelwald, it was when they went back to Hogwarts. There were audible gasps from the audience,” Bock said. “People loved seeing Jude Law as Dumbledore. Hopefully J.K. and the writers realize just because the movie is set in Brazil doesn’t mean we can’t spend half the time at Hogwarts. There are things they could do to save the movie.”

“Adding Steve Kloves is the first good step they’ve made since ‘The Crimes of Grindelwald. I suspect bringing him in will bring in more mythology from ‘Harry Potter’ into ‘Fantastic Beasts’ — that’s why you’d hire someone like that,” Bock said. “He has a lot of knowledge and is trusted by J.K. Rowling to bridge that gap. They need to lead this into a new direction.”

He’s getting some action at Hogwarts😈😈😈😈😈

Bad idea, and crappy title I’m sure y’all can do better

Best idea to kill the movie is to abandon its original story in desperate attempt to please those who couldn't care less about the story jk_rowling tells this time and are there only for the nostalgic stroll down the memory lane. Don't turn FB into a dusty piece in a HP museum.

Even FEWER fantastic beasts?

It’s so weird to say that the best part of CrimesOfGrindelwald were the Hogwarts scenes. They brought in plot holes (what’s up with McGonagall), unnecessary backstory (Leta) and a grim, boring perspective of the school. This, to me, sounds like they didn’t learn anything.

Yessssssss

They could get a real script that didn’t suck, and then film that.

And hopefully less Johnny Depp.

That sounds forced and inorganic to me. It's like with the Hobbit films with all the added references to the Lord of the Rings. It's less Fantastic Beasts and more Harry Potter: the prequel. The Fantastic Beasts title doesn't make sense now.

His ageing makes zero sense.

Maybe they should try making this movie not as bad, that would be a start

more brooms please

If Hollywood cast Jude Law in everything I wouldn’t complain. Just saying.

itfansofdepp We don't need more Hogwarts, we need more Fantastic Beasts and the story of the characters we met in the first movie. Last one was a Lot of subplots and the important ones got lost (except Grindewald's ones, thanks for that) and of course se want more Magical Brazil!!!!

Sooo... it's not about Fantastic Beasts.

What is dead is dead.

sooo...Harry Potter.

‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ Finally Moves Forward With FilmingAfter delaying production on “Fantastic Beasts 3” for several months, Warner Bros. announced filming for the third chapter in the “Harry Potter” spinoff series will commence… Why though it better be good this time.. Not so sure if a third film is necessarily needed but that said I would watch Eddie Redmayne read the entire Apple user agreement. ❤️

'Fantastic Beasts 3' will be co-written by 'Harry Potter' screenwriter after 'Crimes of Grindelwald' flopThe third installment in the five-movie 'Fantastic Beasts' franchise has a release date and a new screenwriter. Thank. Dumbledore. I honestly haven’t enjoyed Fantastic Beasts 1 or 2 as much as the HP franchise. This is good news. I would to see some actual fantastic beasts and see where to find them.... the Harry Potter universe has much to offer when it comes to magical creatures They should just put this prequel to bed. It has none of the magic of the Harry Potter films. Poor character development and a threadbare storyline. Excellent costumes and location shots however
