Senator Xiono was first introduced in Ahsoka episode 3 as Hera pleaded her case to the New Republic Senate about aiding Ahsoka and Sabine in their mission to stop the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Senator Xiono's homeworld was Hosnian Prime. Later in his political career, Xiono petitions for Hosnian Prime to become the New Republic's capital instead of Coruscant. As is known from future Star Wars stories, this petition is successful and the New Republic capital switches to Xiono's home planet. This goes to show how much influence Xiono acquires in the New Republic Senate and proves how important he becomes in the political short-term of Star Wars' future after Ahsoka.
After the destruction of Hosnian Prime and its surrounding planets, Senator Xiono reaches out to his son to tell him that his family survived. Senator Xiono and the rest of his family were off-world when Hosnina Prime was destroyed. It is through other means that Senator Xiono receives somewhat of a comeuppance for his role in Ahsoka.
