IATSE appears to have gotten just about everything it was asking for in a deal with the AMPTP that averted a nationwide strike, including more rest between workdays and improved wages and working c…

In a message to their members, IATSE president Matthew Loeb and the leaders of the union’s 13 Hollywood production locals praised the members’ solidarity for securing a fair contract. “Everything achieved was because you, the members, stood up and gave us the power to change the course of these negotiations,” they said in a statement. “Our solidarity, at both the leadership and rank and file level, was the primary reason that no local was left behind and every priority was addressed.

“Your strike authorization vote, your preparation for a strike and your willingness to risk your livelihood to fight for yourselves and each other has profoundly changed our union,” they said. “We thank you for your unwavering support.” Members will be provided with more details about the new contract over the next few days. After that, they’ll have to ratify it.

I love how Deadline didn’t ask any actual IATSE members what they thought. Most of the tweets in the other article were not from IATSE members. And there are TONS of IATSE member tweets available to highlight.

Nope

Comments on the IATSE Instagram post about this would say otherwise:

Wish this had guaranteed meal time for all

AlyB1223 Well let's hope all members vote on it.

Have they signed? Or is this producers spin?

Not falling for this yet. Still entirely possible the producers leaked “It’s going well and they agreed to it” to potentially make the IATSE look bad if they pull out of negotiations. Wait for word from IATSE itself.

Xtel007 *with my whole ass chest I mean this gif*

Ummm... they haven't voted yet. Let's see how they vote before saying a strike was averted.
