A new study from the Conference Board found that a majority of CEOs are optimistic about the economic environment, though with a persistent degree of caution

Executives are increasingly confident in the economy's health, even as employees continue to face hurdles.from nonprofit business research group the Conference Board, in partnership with the Business Council, shows that a majority of CEOs are optimistic about the economic environment.

While the overall results certainly show more optimism from the C-suite, answers to survey’s more specific questions indicate a persistent degree of caution. “While Q4 saw a resurgence of optimism, leaders are also cognizant of—and planning for—what may be permanent shifts in consumer preferences and organizational expectations ahead,” noted Conference Board Trustee Roger W. Ferguson, Jr., the CEO of TIAA, in a statement released with the study.
