Exceptional car care, safe driving.

Ohhh, I hope it didn't DISRUPT their business model!

Another good reason to get rid of employer based Healthcare system. would allow more flexibility if this wasn't a factor.

The death of that industry in California. No on can work for themselves anymore? Millions of Americans are successfully self employed and don't more government interference.

Cab union must have upped the bribe

I thought that's what they were known as.

This sounds like the judge is protecting cab drivers union to me.

Shame on the ones trying to make it a job

Truth is they are employees. It wasn’t supposed to be a JOB but rather a ride share if you were in the same area.

Because California is broke (as always) and wants to generate more revenues by ensuring state income tax are paid.

Drivers are sub contract workers. I don't get this at all.

Yes it hurts the big boys, but it will eliminate many from making a living. Most do not drive for benefits or sick days, they supplement their primary jobs with the extra income.

Now it's time to do something for PassengerSafety. lyft, Uber & most other TNCs refuse to properly background check any of their U.S. drivers. Their background check service checkr has a disclaimer stating that none of the checks are comprehensive.

The only way to make big money in the taxi business is by screwing the customers, screwing the pseudo hack lackeys .... Screwing the local, state, federal and world attempts to create a fair and equitable work force environment.

Good.

Power to the people. Fuck companies.

California is fucked up.

As long as the government doesn’t classify poor people as human we are good

California Judge Orders Uber And Lyft To Consider All Drivers EmployeesUber and Lyft have been fighting California over whether drivers are employees, entitled to benefits, or independent contractors. A state judge ordered them to consider all those drivers employees. Good call. Not going to fly. The classification exists for a reason. No one is forcing them to work, and you cannot rule that independent contractor is not a legal business relationship. In other words, nice try judge. This is the death of Lyft and Uber. I guess we will go back to the trashy system before of overpriced taxis.

For those who don't know Judges have been ordering this for years nothing has changed. Why don’t they, the drivers, find another job if they are being unfairly treated? Court orders Uber, Lyft to reclassify drivers as employees in CaliforniaA California court orders Uber and Lyft to reclassify their drivers in the state as employees How were they not employees? Statutory employees maybe, but this sounds ridiculous to me. I'll make an educated guess, the reason to reclassify their drivers in the state as employees is so that the state can collect payroll taxes & get more money because people are leaving cali & they can't keep up with their massive social programs. Am I wrong? Maybe, but I doubt it
