[Boeing CEO apologizes for lives lost and acknowledges role of company’s flight-control system in two crashes] Rockwell Collins was on the list. According to communications between Boeing and 737 customers reviewed by The Post, Collins built the 737 Max flight-control computer and wrote the software code that contains MCAS, among other components of the plane.

Boeing is preparing a software fix that is designed to address the underlying problems with MCAS and has said it expects to have a solution ready “in the coming weeks.” Boeing is known to work closely with its software partners on flight-control systems. Employees of Rockwell Collins, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, used to hold all of their internal meetings before 10 a.m. local time because that’s when Boeing managers in Seattle would usually start calling to check their progress on the 737 computer, said one of the former employees.

Separately, Boeing submitted a proposed fix to MCAS to the FAA on Jan. 21, the agency’s acting administrator said in a Senate hearing last week. It’s unclear how the proposed fix may have differed from the software changes made available to customers a few days later.

Washington Post never sent investigative reporters to the area

The morons forgot the easy button!

Not mentioning that the 737 was designed in the 60s and only been added and added on.

'We need more deregulation!' 'Let the manufacturers use BMP's that good enough!'

Pilots of doomed Ethiopian Airlines 737 MAX jet followed Boeing procedures: reportPilots of the doomed Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX followed emergency procedures specified by the maker, the Wall Street Journal reports. I was a technical writer for this company for years. Boeing is cheap. They laid off all the writers because they didn’t think they mattered. This plan crashed due to inadequate manuals and a crappy online course. A software patch won’t fix it.

NTSB So he agrees with the president about the complexity of technology as it relates to balance with humans? NTSB If that’s the problem, maybe we could add the Terminator series to pilot training. Sensor damaged by a foreign object on Ethiopian Airlines 737 MAX triggered fatal crash: SourcesJUST IN: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX suffered a damaged sensor upon takeoff from a bird or foreign object, triggering fatal crash, two aviation sources familiar with the investigation tell ABC News. Sounds like this crash and the other were unrelated except they were the same kind of jet Still a massive mistake making any flight critical system single device only, especially one with control over the rudders for the anti-stall mechanism. Most flight systems have double if not triple redundancy. ‘Beyond Sketchy’: Facebook Demands Users’ Email Passwords

Boeing to submit final 737 Max fix for FAA review in 'coming weeks'The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday it expects Boeing to submit the final software fix for the 737 Max jet 'over the coming weeks.' Coming weeks? Speed it up! The FAASafetyBrief will just defer back to Boeing, right? I mean who better qualified to certify the airworthiness of an aircraft than the manufacturer! They’re the experts! This’ll just be a formality I’m sure. mkmfitzgerald Wouldn't it be proper to state that trim down in response to a stall indication is borrowed from Airbus reference QF72 and LH1829.
