Attorneys for Idaho prison officials argued that a transgender inmate who is suing for access to gender confirmation surgery is too mentally unstable to receive the irreversible medical procedure.

BOISE, Idaho — Attorneys for Idaho prison officials argued Thursday that a transgender inmate who is suing for access to gender confirmation surgery is too mentally unstable to receive the irreversible medical procedure.

The question of whether to provide treatment to inmates with gender dysphoria — and how much treatment to provide — is not an unusual one in prison systems across the country. A federal judge ordered prison officials to provide the surgery earlier this year, and Idaho appealed. "They can say they were well meaning, but we have a person whose medical condition is being treated differently," Rifkin said."A safe, established, effective treatment and they continue to deny it."

If this person is too mentally unstable, what is she/he doing in a prison and not a hospital?

Unbelievable that this even be a consideration for a PRISONER!!!

Richard Ramirez has gained some weight.

Whoa Nellie.......WOW.

The fact that prisons allow this surgery at the taxpayer’s expense is appalling.

Looks like the The Great Khali.

Cruel. Very.

Taxpayers are paying for gender reassignment surgery for inmates convicted of murder and serving life in prison. I can't believe this 😂

in awe of these masculine facial aesthetics

damn look at the jawline on this dude.

That’s our next congressman/woman. We should pay for it “taxes”

This country needs a complete overhaul in regards to every aspect of authority

Aren't they all

Hell yeah. Ooh! I WANT A PIECE OF THAT! So won’t reign in Facebook, but will challenge the right of Apple to protect the security of users? Android is full of privacy & security issues BECAUSE they won’t control who can put apps into the system

In setback for Apple, U.S. Supreme Court lets App Store antitrust suit proceedA divided U.S. Supreme Court on Monday gave the go-ahead to an antitrust lawsuit... Bizarrely un-American. Imagine owning a farm and the store that sells your goods. Why should other farmers be allowed to sell in a store YOU own stocked with food you grow. Surely, the only other vendors you’d let in would stock products you don’t grow, right? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Microsoft is known for its third-party affiliations, Apple has paid the price, repeatedly, for maintaining production/development standards that limit the scope of both rollout and manufacturing. Apple needs to change, but the App Store isn’t the place they need to focus.
