That means 19.7% of all deaths globally were sepsis-related. Previous global estimates were significantly lower.
"We are alarmed to find sepsis deaths are much higher than previously estimated, especially as the condition is both preventable and treatable," author Dr. Mohsen Naghavi, a professor of health metrics sciences at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington School of Medicine, said in a press release."We need renewed focus on sepsis prevention among newborns and on tackling antimicrobial resistance, an important driver of the condition.

My dad died from an infection he got in the hospital. They covered it up and put on his death certificate he died from smoking. My dad didn’t smoke.
People must sue for sepsis acquired from hospitals. That alone is tauntamount to medical negligence.

Technically my dad died from sepsis but that's not taking into account the Leukemia that caused it. So not sure how cases like his are counted. F-cancer!
We forget to factor in low immunity of patients due to old age, chronic diseases and pre-existing organ failure, which could be the main reason with sepsis being the mode of death
All they gave to do is stay clean. Keep wounds clean any wound. Change bandages daily and clean the wound and dress it. Wash your has before and after meals and using any Effin restroom/bathroom.
I was diagnosed with and almost died from Sepsis. Hospitalized for 2 weeks, in ICU. Thought I had the flu.
