While some are outraged a pub has banned kids, but actively welcomes dogs, others have welcomed the policy.

A pub’s controversial ‘dog-friendly, child-free’ policy has sparked a huge debate among both parents and non-parents online. The Lower Red Lion in St Albans advertises the fact children are banned, while dogs are welcome, on a wooden board outside the premises.

‘I don’t say this often but I genuinely hope they go out of business,’ said one angry parent in response to the photo. Found my new local pic.twitter.com/DXaawt0G0U‘We need more child-free venues’ As well as advertising its ban on children at the premises, on X, the pub describes itself as being ‘now child-free inside and out.’

The row broke out when X user Kyle posted a snap of himself on the social media platform crouching next to the sign and joking it was his ‘new local’.And Kyle himself has been the victim of a lot of ‘hate, after ‘endorsing the pub’s policy with his photo caption.Photo credit : Shutterstock Charges for ‘bad parenting’ One restaurant sparked fury after introducing a fee for bad parenting, where they charge if kids misbehave or make too much noise while visiting the restaurant.
