Two vile predators serving 12 and 16-year jail terms for raping and abusing many vulnerable children in their care at Kerelaw School in Ayrshire have denied their crimes to the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry .Muldoon, ex-care worker and unit manager at the residential school that included a secure unit, refused to accept there had been sexual abuse of any kind at Kerelaw in his 21 years working there.
Both men were jailed for the second time in January last year for historic sexual and violent offences against 28 youngsters, 20 male and eight female, in their care at Kerelaw, which closed in 2006. Muldoon, claimed those who gave evidence against him and had made statements for the inquiry were driven by compensation, encouraged, he said, by the Scottish Government’s advertising campaign for Redress Scotland.
