Microsoft has been in the headlines a lot since the start of 2024, just six weeks ago, and not all for the right reasons. While we wait for the company to reveal the future of Xbox next week, there is an air of uncertainty surrounding the future of our favorite gaming platform. Reports emerged this week suggesting that the company is now considering launching some of its first-party games on competing platforms.
As part of those layoffs, it was reported that Xbox had shut down departments dedicated to bringing physical Xbox games to retail. We've also seen these layoffs hit Crash Bandicoot and Spyro developer Toys for Bob pretty hard, with a reported 86 staff being let go.
