TUV leader, Jim Allister, addressed an audience in Bangor stating that the daunting task of "reunification of the United Kingdom" is the primary obstacle confronting unionists in Northern Ireland.
At the time, the DUP leaders emphasised that the deal had effectively nullified the trade boundary for products shipped from Great Britain to Northern Ireland where they would remain. Allister concluded by saying: "Its means of achievement are equally obvious. The ultimate manifestation of Irish unity is Northern Ireland and the Republic ruled by precisely the same laws."
Addressing the meeting, Mr Bryson pointed out that the DUP's deal had not brought about the removal of the so-called Irish Sea trading border. "EU law in itself is no longer an issue, let alone a fundamental one, but rather it is how EU law manifests itself is the DUP's only concern."
