A taxi driver whose teeth would fall out while he was eating has transformed his life after going abroad for a "miraculous" smile makeover. Gohlam Tehranizad, 66, was facing a £25,000 bill to go private in the UK or a three-year waiting list for treatment on the NHS.
Despite seeking help from the NHS, Gohlam, who works as a taxi driver, faced daunting waiting lists and limited treatment options, leaving him feeling hopeless. "They just did basic fillings and told me there was nothing they could do," he said. A friend of his brother's had treatment at Dentum in Croatia. Following a phone call, Gohlam flew to Zagreb, where he was assessed by the medical team and approved. He underwent a complete overhaul, including 23 crowns, several implants and essential hygiene procedures, paying around £12,500 in total.
