It is not clear what caused the sign to fall from the Pelham Street watering hole

A loud "crash" was heard as a Nottingham city centre pub's front sign plunged onto the floor. The Loxley Pub on Pelham Street, lost its signage this afternoon , with passersby noticing the large sign, which reads The Loxley, had fallen on the street.

It is not clear what caused the sign to fall from the pub, although there have been some suggestions it could be due to the recent strong winds. Forest Fields resident, Edward Jean-Jacques, said: "I literally came out the gym and heard a crash but didn't think nothing of it being the middle of town."Looked up and a crowd had gathered at the front of The Loxley.
