New Covid-19 guidelines to allow 2.2 million who are shielding to go outside from Monday

The more than 2 million people who have been “shielding” from Covid-19 in England because they are deemed to be clinically extremely vulnerable will be allowed to spend time outdoors from Monday for the first time in 10 weeks.

Don’t think so I trust my own judgment not this shambolic reckless government look at there track record highest deaths in Europe and counting my family not going out until we feel it’s safe not when this Cummings led say so

Great, now is the time to get rid of them... Need these death rates to rise. This move is a death trap.

Big mistake sending vulnerable children back to school until death rates are below the hundreds another spike will be the end of boris.

Spare a bought for the infirm and those whose occasional trips out of the house ordinarily rely on relatives or friends to take them in a car or a wheelchair. Still, with social distancing, stuck indoors.

It’s like they want England to come out and play like everyone else but we haven’t finished our homework yet.

The government has lost the plot

📯 Bring out your dead ☠️

They've seeded the virus into care homes and let the old people die, so now they're just clearing out the sick and disabled. Just a ludicrous decision, from an incompetent, heartless government.

Death sentence for the immuno-suppressed. First the elderly,, then school kids & Teachers and now the Weak. Stop mass murderers Johnson & Cummings. Enough is enough.

Sweet Jesus, what a mess. How wonderful. Now the likes of me are going to pay the tax overheads for decades when the figures turn out to be fudged. Impossible to say how many actually died of CV-19. The so called sharp leadership team are actually thick as s***.

This is insane

No one is listening, the British public have decided that the lockdown is over. The public have voted with their feet

Fuck. That.

Are they ending shielding early when sage members are warning that its too early to ease lockdown?

Just when you think this government can sink no lower!

I know someone who was contacted today and to shield til end of July. The Government then announced this. 😳

At this point the way things are they may as well just fucking end it. Their catalogue of omnishambolic clusterfucks has basically done so anyway.

I've been out once since 7 March to hospital A&E and was shielding until 30 June UNLESS TOLD OTHERWISE BY A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. I don't plan to help Boris Johnson achieve an indisputable world beating death rate by following such dangerous government advice

Must be trying to kill the elderly and save pensions and homecare payments. The generation who fought the Nazi's are allowed to die in care homes because they have nothing to contribute to a Tory led government. Well who voted the hoors in?

These people are mad. At least a SecondWave will shift the focus off sackcummings sackDimAndDom they hope and stop us notmovingon

My shielding letter came from a hospital consultant; this announcement is to come from a scandal-hit member of BoZo’s cabinet. Hummm... who to trust? 🤔

I wonder if they realise that most people are sensible and will continue to shield themselves. Why are they even suggesting this, at this stage of the pandemic? They are either very stupid or psychopathic (or there's a good mix of both in the cabinet).

They want you to die.

Plainly, if the lockdown is to be eased for everyone else, then the most clinically vulnerable need to be *more* isolated, not less.

I don't think so. Lymphocytes still only at 50%. Not going anywhere near anyone outside my household. Got no support from s/mkts. Govt plans are all a crock of shite. Don't believe them.

This easing of the lockdown sounds like some kind of dangerous experiment, with the as yet unknown but *possible outcome* being more infections and subsequently, more deaths, *possibly*. I just don't know where we're heading at the minute. Does the government and advisors know?

Even if they lift up the lockdown,,we,as responsible citizens should take care of ourselves and others..stay home if the work isn't essential

The photo makes it look like this was announced at the briefing rather than late Saturday evening NotGoingAnywhere

Should read “Lockdown to be eased for England's most clinically vulnerable for two weeks until second wave lockdown hits” - bit more realistic I’d say.

Nice that Govt had time to check in with my Dad’s consultants to find out that even though has COPD, is on dialysis and has had open heart surgery, is ok for him to stop shielding now!?

No science behind this announcement whatsoever!

Sickening!

Doesn't make much sense.

Uk Govt wants clearly wants a second wave, the NHS to be overwhelmed and a convenient excuse for the economic disaster of Brexit to be blames on a virus. That they can use this to undermine democracy in the UK is all part of the plan.

dicks.

Mhm

I'm pretty sure they are going to lock down in two weeks again, it seems to be what tends to happen.
