The government is bringing together key players in schools and universities to develop plans to tackle mental health issues.

A new network of school and university bodies is being created to help new students as they leave home for the first time.

"It is exciting, there's lots of great new things happening but there are new things to manage for the first time which can be daunting. He added:"You are surrounded by new people which means you can make new friends but also it's daunting." "In any tragedy we would be looking for public authorities closely linked with that person to learn from that experience.

UUK is considering how students' families and friends can be involved in mental health support and care while ensuring confidentiality.

IMO it is not the job of university staff to cope with students with mental illness. It's the local authorities and the NHS.

Nanny state. Leave em alone to get drunk take drugs shag rotters and walk around with road traffic cones on their heads.

One major problem with the university's is cost what i mean is who wants to be salded with say £27000 worth of debit for the bargaining of your working life?

Maybe try looking at what the issues are that have changed to cause the rise.... I.e stress of paying over the top for their education, their accomodation, whilst having a major lifestyle change..... Poor educational preparation in early years and no fun just pressure to perform
