On today’s BBC Breakfast, Kate Green revealed she wasn’t pleased with the Government’s decision to let students take results from mock exams if they are not happy with the results they will be given by the examining board. Charlie Stayt pressed the Shadow Education Secretary for “clarity” and the pair clashed when he slammed her for repeating herself.

For next year every single teacher will predict A* and every single student will be awarded it! If next years pupils have to sit the exam and as a cohort the overall pass rate falls compared with 2020, they are all going to claim that they were disadvantaged by actually having to take the exam. How will the government fix that? Might as well just give everyone to marks. exam grades, part of the, 'intellectual apartheid,' of our society, do well and you may rise, do badly and at every interview you will be asked why ?

Students want exam results upgraded across UKNational Union of Students says Scotland's exam changes must be applied to A-levels for fairness. Make them re do the year they are in. That should cheer them up. Of course this was going to be an unfair outcome. No wonder students were disappointed not to be able to sit the exams. The same will happen in England & Wales as in Scotland. They will ignore the recommendations. There will be appeals. Lots of them. I did an A level but it was downgraded to a GCSE :-(
