A 16-year-old boy from Sudan who disappeared at sea has been found dead on a French beach.
French minister Marlene Schiappa said the boy's body was found on a beach in Sangatte, Calais, on Wednesday. UK Home Secretary Priti Patel said the death of the young migrant was a"brutal reminder" that people smugglers exploit the vulnerable.More than 4,800 people have crossed the Channel in about 360 small boats this year.
Clare Moseley, of refugee charity Care4Calais, said she was"absolutely devastated by the unnecessary death of this child".Ms Moseley said the boys the charity supports in Calais were"fun to be with despite the horrors they have been through". "Some are cheeky, some are smart, some like football, some like books. None deserve to be here and none deserve to die alone in the sea."
He was 28 and had applied for asylum in France.

This tragedy only highlights a total disregard to the problem by the French authorities, under EU agreements France should process migrants on their soil or from point of origin. EU states are safe countries! Now migrant economic preferences!
It is sad and I know they all want to come here ... when we can look after the people we have. When law and order is back . When the uk is safe for our children and grandchildren and when people come to Britain through the proper channels welcome 🙏

This will upset the left but if this teenager was travelling with their parents then the parents are the one's to blame. The death is tragic and I would never wish it on anyone. But this shows we must discourage people from making the journey and go after the traffickers.
