Michael Duffy, Joe Verdin, Jamie Alsamarraie and Luke Davies are members of Room Two. The band have already headlined a sell-out show in Liverpool, even though they didn’t take themselves too seriously when they started out in Skelmersdale a few years ago.
It didn’t take much to get Joe, 23, from Widnes, involved when he spotted the band performing at Round the Corner in Liverpool city centre. As Joe recalls: “I said, they're just there to have a laugh because they enjoy the music. As soon as the last band split up, Michael messaged me and said, there's a vacancy opening up if you want to join, and I just jumped at the offer. I'd been in a band with Jamie, so there was a common ground there.
“I want to make a career out of music just because it's what I love doing. I think if you do something you enjoy doing, technically you never work a day in your life, so it'd be ideal.” The pair are convinced their passionate but relaxed style has been crucial for their success. Joe said: “I like the fact that we're not in there to prove a point or do anything like that. We're in there because we want to be there, because it's what we enjoy doing. To just finish that first rehearsal and then not go our separate ways, like it was a business meeting or something, but to go out and have a pint - it's a feeling you almost can't describe.
