Liam Bainbridge and Michael McCoogan from Clydebank, and Ian Scott of Milngavie were jailed at Reading Crown Court for aggravated burglary and a firearms offences.

Three Scotsmen who travelled to the Home Counties, dressed themselves in police uniforms and broke into a house brandishing two guns and a knife were starting long prison sentences today.

A judge heard the terrifying raid happened in June last year but the gang left one of the firearms behind at the scene in Slough, Berks. All three were arrested soon after. A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "On June 21 last year, Scott, Bainbridge and Mccoogan dressed as police officers and entered a property on Spackmans Way, Slough with two firearms and a knife.
