Pasig to implement mandatory use of face shields this week

Sotto said the City Council has recently passed an ordinance imposing the mandatory use of face shields on public transports, work offices, and stores amid the pandemic.

The local government has adopted the guidelines set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases , the Departments of Trade and Industry , and Labor and Employment on the use of face shields. In his social media posts, Sotto shared photos of the city’s traffic enforcers distributing face shields to drivers of public utility vehicles in Pasig.

“Bukod sa face mask ay kailangan may suot tayong face shield kapag nasa pampublikong transportasyon at indoors—opisina, tindahan, atbp. ,” Sotto reminded.The mayor said the local government will strictly implement the mandatory wearing of face shields next week.
