Senate pays last respects to Senator and Manila Mayor Lim

Senate President Vicente Sotto III, in behalf of his colleagues, bade farewell to Lim as his funeral convoy passed by the Senate at around 8 a.m. before his interment.

Aside from serving as a senator, he also worked as a policeman, becoming the police chief in the city of Manila, where he was also elected as chief executive in 1992 to 1998 and 2007 to 2013. He earned the moniker “Dirty Harry” for his efforts to rid Manila of drugs, prostitution, and other crimes. Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Saturday paid his last respects to former senator and Manila mayor Alfredo Lim.

Earlier, the Senate adopted a resolution honoring Lim for serving the country “with utmost dedication, honor and dignity” in various capacities.
