Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has issued a dire warning, stating that the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency poses a significant threat to Nigeria’s stability, emphasizing that the humanitarian crisis in the northeast requires immediate containment to avert a potentially catastrophic situation.
Governor Zulum raised concerns about the existence of internally displaced persons camps in various Local Government Areas within Borno State, labelling them as potential breeding grounds for Boko Haram and ISWAP recruitment. The governor expressed these alarming observations during a meeting with the reconstituted management board of the North-East Development Commission at the Borno State Government House in Maiduguri on Monday.
He said the critical situation in the region needs urgent action to address the humanitarian crisis and prevent further radicalization and recruitment by these insurgent groups.BREAKING: Nigeria greater than your unrealized ambition, accept defeat as a statesman – APC tells Atiku
