With the passing of Joseph Kurup, Sabah lost an exceptional leader, says CM Hajiji Noor

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor describes Tan Sri Joseph Kurup 's passing as Sabah losing a seasoned and exceptional leader .

The Chief Minister, in a statement, extended his sympathies and condolences to the family of the late Kurup and reflected on his time working alongside the veteran politician, who passed away at the age of 79 at the National Heart Institute in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday . “Reflecting on the time I had the honour to work alongside him as his Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Industrial Development of Sabah back in 1994, I am reminded of his exceptional leadership and the considerable contributions he has made to our community, state and country.

“Tan Sri Joseph Kurup’s legacy is one of dedication and service, a true loss to us all,” said Hajiji. Kurup, one of the Parti Bersatu Sabah founding members, was also a veteran member of Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah and held various ministerial posts at state and federal levels when he was active in politics.
