KOTA KINABALU: Holistic approaches for Sabah and its people’s development are being planned, with some already in the midst of implementation, says head of state Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.

He said these plans – covering businesses, welfare, education, environment, manufacturing, agriculture, technology, healthcare, sports and women development – will be pushed forward amid the global economic crisis and pandemic.

He also said that the state government is in the process of providing a second economic stimulus package to boost economic growth and stability. “Apart from that, timber-based downstream industries and the development of small and medium industries would also be given weight, ” he said. “Sabah aims to become Asia’s food hub and to cater to huge demand from countries such as China, ” he said.
