PETALING JAYA: The time for warning people to abide by the movement control order (MCO) is over and it is the time for arrests, says Selangor’s deputy police chief.

Deputy Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed said after two phases of the MCO, the public should already know what they can or cannot do.“Many have asked why we are not using the soft approach by just warning people, but we have been letting people off with warnings and advice.

He added that these patrols would be done in six-hour shifts, and policemen would patrol on foot on an hourly basis. When asked about the MCO compliance rate in Selangor in recent days, DCP Arjunaidi said that within the last 24 hours alone, police have arrested 316 people for defying the order.

How can the police uses cuffs against MCO violators ? It is definitely wrong against the law. MCO violators are not criminal and police has no right to use hand cuffs on them. The violators can challenge and sue the police head and Defence Minister on this matter.

Stop talking. Just do it!
