The public is advised to be aware of weather forecasts and warnings issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) due to the monsoon transition from March to May. Changes in weather such as heavy rain and storms can lead to flash floods and landslides.

: Orang ramai dinasihatkan sentiasa peka dengan ramalan dan amaran cuaca yang dikeluarkan oleh Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia susulan peralihan monsun yang bermula pada Mac hingga Mei ini.

“Berbeza dengan Monsun Timur Laut, perubahan cuaca semasa peralihan monsun berlaku di luar jangkaan,” katanya dalam kenyataan hari ini. Menurut Aminurrahim sepanjang Monsun Timur Laut yang bermula pada 11 Nov hingga penghujung Mac lepas seramai 92,534 mangsa banjir ditempatkan di 751 pusat pemindahan sementara selain merekodkan empat kematian.

Beliau berkata operasi itu akan dibahagikan kepada dua fasa iaitu fasa pertama pada 5 hingga 9 April dan fasa kedua pada 12 hingga 14 April.
