MAKA Persidangan Agung Khas UMNO pada 15 Mei 2022 pun meluluskan pindaan kepada Perlembagaan UMNO. Mari kita lihat pindaan itu dengan lebih dekat. Fasal 10.16.1 setelah dipinda, berbunyi:
Sebelum dipinda, MKT hanya boleh menangguh pemilihan selama 18 bulan, menjadikan hayat jawatan pemegang-pemegang itu 3 tahun + 18 bulan=4 tahun 6 bulan. Pemilihan mesti diadakan sebelum tamat tempoh 4 tahun 6 bulan itu. Jika dalam keadaan itu mereka menggunakan klausa kedua, pemilihan mesti dibuat dalam tempoh enam bulan selepas PRU diadakan yang, besar kemungkinan, adalah kurang daripada 18 bulan.
Ertinya, mereka boleh memegang jawatan hampir tiga kali ganda daripada tempoh tiga tahun asal. Akibatnya, akan berkuranglah amalan demokrasi dalam UMNO dan ia akan menjadikan pemimpin-pemimpin UMNO sebagai diktator. Pendaftar perlu meminta penjelasan daripada UMNO apakah tujuannya memasukkan perkataan-perkataan itu. Jika penjelasan yang memuaskan tidak dapat diberi dan Pendaftar hendak meluluskan juga pindaan itu, perkataan-perkataan itu hendaklah dipotong.
