PETALING JAYA: Malaysia recorded 2,431 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday (Sept 15) bringing the total number of infections in the country to 4,811,327 since the pandemic began.

According to the Health Ministry's GitHub data repository, this is the first time that daily Covid-19 cases have gone above 2,000 since Sept 9.

The portal also reported that there were 1,820 recoveries from Covid-19 on Wednesday, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 4,748,732 since the pandemic began. A total of 1,206 individuals, or 4.6% of active cases, are being treated in hospitals while there are 66 cases, or 0.3% of the total, admitted to intensive care units nationwide.
