Malaysia recorded 1,847 new Covid19 cases and five deaths due to the disease on Monday (Sept 12), says the Health Ministry. Read more at

According to the ministry's CovidNow portal, 1,840 of the new Covid-19 infections in the country were local transmissions, while there were 7 imported cases.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 infections in the country to 4,806,954 cases since the pandemic began. A total of 5 deaths were recorded on Monday with 1 classified as being brought in dead, bringing the total to 36,285.
