The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was remanded in custody to the Oberstown Detention Campus in Dublin until Friday as he is currently without a permanent residence.
He told Judge Olann Kelleher that gardaí did not object to bail in the case once the teenager had somewhere to live, but he expressed concern for the teenager's welfare in the event that he was remanded on bail without an address at which to reside. The hearing of the case was adjourned until this afternoon so that gardaí and Mr Kelleher could make further enquiries about finding accommodation for the accused.
