Ireland rugby star Finlay Bealham and wife Sarah have welcomed their first child. The Connacht prop, who is part of this year's Six Nations squad, announced the happy news ahead of Ireland's clash with Italy this weekend.

The Connacht prop, who is part of this year's Six Nations squad, announced the happy news ahead of Ireland 's clash with Italy this weekend. Finlay explained that he had to leave camp to go back home in Galway while the team were training for their next match. But the 32-year-old was expecting the call as wife Sarah 's due date was this week.

"My beautiful wife was due this week, and I got the call on Tuesday evening to head back to Galway," he said. "I got there in time for the birth of my first child which was amazing." Finlay revealed he and Sarah are proud parents to a baby boy and they have named him Joaquin. He told IRFU's social media team: " a healthy baby boy and mum's doing excellent as well. We're really grateful, it's exciting times." The rugby ace added that coach Andy Farrell was aware he would have to return home this wee
