The men, both aged in their 40s, are currently detained at Garda stations in Kerry under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act. A follow-on operation, investigating drug trafficking and organised crime offences, is currently being conducted by Gardaí from the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit.If the drugs are confirmed as crystal meth it will be by far the biggest-ever seizure of the drug in Ireland.
At this stage it's not known if the drugs were manufactured here and were to be transported to another country.
