TTC CEO Rick Leary says he doesn’t know exactly what’s behind the recent violence but the underlying issues are complex and will require a co-ordinated response.

Fund the Police!
This is a good first step. This needs to be permenant. You riders will need to back the officers when making an arrest. No more comments like “officers used excessive force”. Anyone who protests this move is an anti-cop activist who supports more crime on the transit system.

Woman in her 20s rushed to hospital after stabbing on TTC streetcarToronto police have arrested a suspect and say it is unclear whether victim and suspect knew each other after the incident on the Spadina streetcar just south of Bloor Street West. The victim, a woman in her 20s, was found with multiple stab wounds and was taken to a hospital via emergency run, police say. Officers arrested the suspect on scene. This was in front of 666 Spadina Avenue. We really need to allow people to carry less lethal weapons for self defence. It can give them a chance to get away if they are attacked. Sometimes even brandishing it might make an attacker think twice. It’s unreasonable to criminalize people who want to protect themselves.
