Young woman stabbed by stranger on Toronto streetcar in latest episode of TTC violence

— this one involving a suspect who, according to police, stabbed a stranger multiple times aboard a TTC streetcar on Tuesday afternoon.that a stabbing had occured on a streetcar in the area of Spadina Avenue and Sussex Avenue.

The suspect, a woman in her 40s, was arrested at the scene, according to police, while the victim, a woman in her 20s, has been rushed to hospital with multiple stab wounds. Her condition has not been revealed. Police could not initally say if this was yet another random attack upon an unsuspecting transit rider in Toronto, but TPS Duty Inspector Lori Kranenburg confirmed to reporters during a press conference later Tuesday afternoon that the two women are not believed to have known each other.
