The Bondi to Manly walk is officially open and it's a treasure trail of landmarks | SianBrain

The 80km Bondi to Manly walking track is officially open after mayors, other officials and the La Perouse and Metropolitan Local Aboriginal councils gathered on Sunday at the halfway mark at Milsons Point to celebrate the moment.

“Competition” is another term that the Mayor of Woollahra Susan Wynne used to describe the project, playfully boasting that the section of walk through Woollahra is the most beautiful. Sydney man Michael Ward has already completed the walk and set the record to beat at 15 hours and 43 minutes.

Inside the public service shakeup: what it really says about Morrison's GovernmentShortly after the federal election, I had a conversation with a figure at the very centre of the Government. I remembered his extraordinary reflections again this week, as the knife came down on the public service. Hi Twitter. Very interesting read here. 'I don’t miss them': If nothing changes after a local council is sacked, do we really need them?Councils have been dismissed in Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria in the past 12 months after allegations of corruption, infighting and budget blowouts, prompting questions around the relevance of local councillors. Having no local councillors removes the public's ability to communicate with council. Dealing directly with council office is like dealing with a government organisation, unresponsive to the community. They are 100% NOT required - a joke level of government - get rid of them all 👍 - if you need something sorted in your community speak to your state member

What Sydney's new water restrictions mean for youFor Sydney children experiencing their first drought, the key is education. Restrictions are a start, but there are more ways to conserve water. How had it come to this? If Berejiklan should have been focused on ensuring water security rather than building stadiums and toy trains. Resign. A decade? Who can remember that far back? It must be a catastrophe! How's that desalination plant going? Remember, that thing we all paid for, and I thought, were continuing to pay for...?
