‘Yellow vest’ protests are taking place across France for the 24th weekend, days after President Emmanuel Macron promised reforms to appease demonstrators.

French police are firing tear gas to try and push back protestors marching towards the European parliament building in the eastern city of Strasbourg.

It comes despite Mr Macron pledging to reduce taxes for the middle class, and unveiling measures to boost pensions, help single parents, ensure a more representative parliament and ease rules on referendums.
