Woolworths Group has issued a vaccine mandate for tens and thousands of staff across the country working in stores, distribution centres or in the office.

The retail giant will require all 170,000 staff working across its supermarket and department stores to be fully vaccinated by January 31, 2022 in the ACT, New South Wales, Northern Territory, Victoria and Western Australia.Chief Executive Brad Banducci said the move came after a"careful review of the best medical advice" acknowledging a single team member can come into contact with"quite literally thousands of people" a week.

"We have 170,000 team members across our stores, distribution centres and support offices, and more than 1,200 retail stores. With each store welcoming an average 20,000 customers a week, a single team member can come into contact with quite literally thousands of people in the course of a normal working week.

"As we enter the next phase of the pandemic and learn to live with COVID-19, we need to strengthen our workplace settings and vaccinations are clearly a key part of this. The supermarket giant joins other companies including Qantas, Virgin, Telstra, Westpac and Commonwealth Bank requiring all staff to get double-jabbed.

Management at head office too ?

It is disaster

Shame on Woolworths!!!

They are underestimating how many people that work for woolworths don't want to be forced to get the vaccine. This could cause some serious problems

if woolworths were truly concerned about the health of the general public and the hospital system it would stop selling the massive amount junk food it does. But then again that would have an impact on $$$

What would u rather have the vaccine or the virus.

Good

🎶Woolworths the freshly jabbed people 🎶

Increase skilled migration to 200,000 per year, says leading business groupMigration targets must be set to address “severe” skill shortages to promote post-pandemic recovery, the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry says: 'We've recognised that wages are far lower than they should be so please please please import workers!' says the business lobby. No severe skill shortage if rise the pay. Make Aussies we have here learn the skills & work. Make relocation 4 work easier 4 all, especially those on welfare. More social housing across the country would B a good start. Migration seems 2 cause so many problems as evidenced by recalcitrance of ethnic groups during Covid.
